About 125 years ago the Kavanaugh family left Ireland for Philadelphia. Immediately after immigrating from Ireland, Kate’s great-grandmother became a young widow. In a foreign country, she forged ahead, packing up her 5 young daughters and heading West in a covered wagon from Philadelphia to Colorado searching out a new frontier.

So it is in that same tradition that Western Daughters set out to revive the West one pasture at a time; restoring the ranching of our roots and the roots of our grasses. The West is our heritage, our family, and our life’s blood. Drawing from the West’s diverse grasses, ecosystems, and culture Western Daughters proudly sources meat that is all raised and harvested within 150 miles of Denver. We look beyond the boundaries of conventional meat, ensuring that our animals are raised and butchered with transparency and a mind towards restorative practices.
